And why are we doing this again?
July 22,2007
If you dont like listening to whiny situations between whats happening to my family and our neighbor then I suggest you stop reading.
This has been going on from the dawn of time.
The Situation
Once upon a time, ha-ha im just kidding ill cut the crap and get to the meaty stuff. If you were paying any attention to the previous entries on our past blog there has been quite an obvious rumble and tumble with our next door neighbor. Love thy neighbor? I totally doubt it. So when we were about to move to Oman on our what 6 1/2 years out of Brunei our neighbor had finished her house. Okay so by that time we were like all chill and stuff and we noticed people started driving in and later we discovered we had tuition next door! but no need to worry because we were out of Brunei sent upon a posting. When we returned for holiday in one of our years in Oman i noticed that some students were smoking and walking around underneath our house prior to the extension which has been finished this year. I thought.. okay funky. So anyway there hasnt been much of a problem till now. I mean, we’re back! for goodness sake respect the privacy of people living around you. Im sure if there were other houses built that shared the road we share they would have complained as well. But now we’re fighting a battle against her 100+ students and three teachers. One time I recall her abruptly asking the truck driver when he would be moving his car out of the driveway we share, that made me just stop and think for a couple of seconds. When she was getting her house done……no one complained..hmm. Im getting tired of people backing up on our driveway. Its just …you know i mean how would you feel if you knew that people at a certain time during the day were outside of your house. Uncomfortable. Insecure. and So on and So forth. Not only is this tution business a slap in the face to privacy and common courtesy but also to the whole value of abiding by the law. Yes ladies and gentlemen oh ho ho ho ho you have nooo idea how many law infridgements they are able to step over in Brunei. I mean, is it that sad that just sweet talk and numerous connections get you out of trouble with the law? Can people truly be above the law in Brunei. So we did some research. Apparently this is a violation to several different departments in Brunei. Such as the ministry of education, housing department, land office, immigration and labor department. Basically the point is tuition is not allowed in private housing areas. This is invasion of privacy and when we werent here they chilled downstairs in our house. I believe thats entering our compound/property? Oh and another note, they investigated the lady and we found out that she actually put the address as her tuition in a commercial building which is allowed but when they went to take a look it wasnt there, therefore her lisence was revoked. In other words, shes operating without a lisence. Also shes sent so many text messages to my father with such a rude and disrespectful tone and the worst part is shes totally getting away with it. If the cars would just stay on the road and not go into the driveway then it wouldve been okay, we actually told them that STILl nothing. ITS SOOOOOOO ANNOYING!!!
The Entry, and the Author
Recently there has been an entry in the Borneo Bulletin under Saturday 14th July 2007 whilst I was in Shanghai. So I am chatting to my brother and he sends me this horrific link, which i cant find at the moment. But if you can its entitled ‘Stop harassing the hapless” … it is.. like. WOWWWW mann ive never seen so much pure BS in my life, pardon my french. First of all we can tell its a lie because, in the beginning line it states how a man from the education department bangs on a door… Oh okay we live in what country again? Brunei? right? um.. yeahh… just to sayy no one in Brunei bangs on doors. Seriously. THis is written by Ignatius Stephen who apparently has an A.K.A amongst Bruneian Borneo Bulletin Readers, its “obnoxious”. Probably right for a reason. After just simply typing that name into our favorite search engine “google” i came up with many complaints toward this journalist.
Complaints much? <–Click me
Feel free to dwell on the fact that many readers of the newspaper are fed up of his negative opnions and incorrect voice for the Bruneian People. Oh but if you do read the article i would like to have state some things about it.
my my my, a couple of friends. my…. oh retired teachers. woah. i mean wow just looking at the teachers who walk into that house they look like theyre in their 20’s. is there a youth fountain i dont know about yet or are these kids just retiring alot earlier these days. Must be earning tons of bucks from about one hundred kids they supposedly “help”. And if it is really a gotong royang or gathering of friends from the neighborhood to help them then i wonder why there is such a big price tag on getting “help”. Because i swear if you go to pertama jaya soon lee and the delima complex or just scattered around the Lambak Kanan area you will most likely find an advertisement with tuition fees on it. the one that says “Want to pass well on your exams?” I guess thats how little gatherings are these days. With time schedules, teachers, tuition fees, meh but what do i know? and if they live in the neighborhood then why do they need cars to constantly come into our simpang. Beats me.
Appareltly, according to this article, after being a twice divorcee people should give you more pity. I find this to be such a diss to all of the people who do get divorced beacuse its as if shes calling divorcees weak. Just to show you how good she is, picture this. You are bruneian you are entitled to house or land here, correct? You get your house you find a wife you marry her.(shes singaporean by blood by the way) but anyway as i continue you get a divorce and POOF! who gets the house, SHE DOES!! oh myy how how sad.. i must.wow now the husband has to pay alot more for shelter and on top of that when he picks up his kids he’s not even allowed in the driveway. he has to waitttttt on the road to the house that is rightfully his. Thats how well she can twist her words.
The Saturday
Okay so saturday was basically last night. I am still unaware of what happened but apparently everyone went to the police all together and she has so many people on her side, including the teachers. THis is intimidating because obviously they have more people on her side whereas ours is just.. well us. and the law which proves quite faulty at this point. OH and what really pissed me off, the reason why im up right now typing this is because she dissed my MOTHER! and everyone knows you do not diss someones mom. never, ever, ever! She pointed to my mom and went “i dont know her i dont know her” and my mom went “I dont know you either” thats not it THEN she said “She’s just filopino” …
…. so my mother went ” and you are singaporean. I guess we’re the same we arent Bruneian” Which is true neither of them are bruneian by blood but by golly what is this lady saying. I mean okay so everyone knows when you are not in your home country you are technically a minority or a foreigner. So… by blood shes not bruneian either so yeah.
The need for a voice
Connections own in Brunei right? This fuels me to the core that i am up at 3:00 AM writing in my blog instead of catching up on some Z’s. And it would be splended if you would join my side. No not the dark side my dear, that belongs to house 9, rightt over there. This situation has caused so much strife in my family and i am SICK-OF-IT. seriously im just at the FREAKING brink. thats why im asking all of you to help me out by hopefully pulling some strings that will drastically help. Find out the name of the teachers or something. Hell, I dont know, word of mouth goes fast in Brunei, doesnt it? I know i sound really retarded writing about this but its just, what else can I do?
P.S. Sorry for the grammar mistakes or even spelling mistakes its kinda hard when youre typing really fast and at like 3, in the morning. ahah.:P
Oh this its just another day..
Erm thanks for going up and down our driveway its quite lovely… *sarcastic tone*

July 18,2007
I think this holiday is seriously driving me to complete boredom – BUT i have found a way to liven it up! =D MWAHAHA….how you ask? Well, lets say i have some speakers, nearly 1500 songs and a voice thats completely out of tune, all at the ready. These 3 items are the essential factors needed to piss an individual off
and I’ve been trying to piss off my neighbors with this delightful music till they come knocking . So far…it has been unsuccessful but i have managed to annoy my mother – now, she seems embarrassed to have me as a daughter haha..no surprise there
The only reason why they haven’t come knocking is because my mum refuses to let me open up the windows to ya know..let the music out……but one day when she is out of the house..*evil grin* i’ll make sure the neighbors come knocking. I want to see them furious. AHHGAHAGAH and i will laugh at them and pretend that i am unaware of this loud music by pretending to be deaf. That is my plan…i hope it runs smoothly when they come!
SEE..damn you Brunei! I blame you for the way I’m behaving right now! If Brunei had more things for the average teen I would definitely not be doing this on a Wednesday afternoon in the Summer -I could be out there mingling instead of doing this! how sad.Anyhonks..I must waddle back and make fruitless attempts to piss off my neighbors!
Photo time!

I know i was meant to put these up a week ago, when i initially came back from my trip. However, there is a reason as to why it’s a week late! July 9,2007
Me of course! After my awfully tiring 11 day trip to Europe all my energy has been sucked out and i’ve been left as a messy, motionless pulp of goo on the sidewalk just waiting to be stepped upon by the many strangers i met along my trip. Anyhonks i just got back..phwwoooofie..left Frankfurt last night and arrived today at 11-ish. And you know what?! Damn it – i missed Asian food – full stop.
Food over there and here in Asia are just completely different things – its like the people there have no taste buds at all! my god. But i will agreee with one thing…=) the chocolate with the alcohol was delish. I was quite fond of all the little chocs they had in store for me – though they were quite the rip off ..it was worth every franc . For example, up in Grindelwald Switzerland – woooooo…the chocolate champagne truffles areee tooo die for.. you may disagree but heck, i like it! Though i did buy some to bring back here…unfortunately they died – due to a rather large behind accidentally squishing it into a disgusting poo-like goop. Actually that behind was my own….ya see,i left it in my bag in the car and then when i got back …well erm yeh…*squish*.
What a waste – but i still had to eat it..just meant i couldn’t really share it with people coz it looked kinda gross…jsut like poop…=S Aw..come to think of it – i should’ve taken a photo to show you guys how pooey it looked after my big ol’ behind sat on them…oh vell, theres always next time =)
Hm..speaking of photos – i’ll see if i can upload some photos from the trip later. Anyhonkhonks – have an awesome holiday guys! —mmayyyyy
